Install in Ubuntu 19.10 Eoarn Ermine
-
Hello,
I am noob here, and I have a problem with the installation.
I have installed RetroPie on Ubuntu 19.10 Eoarn Ermine, but I have had a lot of problems with installing some packages.
This is the list of packages that fails with the installation of Ubuntu 19.10:
libudev-dev
libxkbcommon-dev
libsdl2-dev
libasound2-dev
libusb-1.0-0-dev
libx11-xcb-dev
libpulse-dev
libvulkan-dev
libavcodec-dev
libavformat-dev
libavdevice-dev
nvidia-cg-toolkit
libfreeimage-dev
libfreetype6-dev
libcurl4-openssl-dev
libasound2-dev
cmake
libsdl2-dev
libsm-dev
libvlc-dev
libvlccore-dev
vlc
rapidjson-devBut the main problem has been with the "libasound2-dev" which depends directly on the "libasound2", but this package is no available in the new Ubuntu versions (Eoarn Ermine and Focal Fossa).
Solution? I installed retropie on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and then, I updated to Ubuntu 19.10.
RetroPie should be available in all versions of Ubuntu, without having to install all packages manually: sudo apt-get install -y (name of package) -

Post an installation log somewhere so we can take a look.
We didn't have this kind of issues reported lately and I don't think this is a general issue, but maybe something in particular with your setup. RetroPie-Setup tries to automatically install any dependencies, so there's must be something wrong with these packages being installed. For instance, libsd2-dev, libasound2-dev and libasound2 are available in both 19.10 and Focal (20.04):
