      I'll use Metal Gear Solid as an example, but this is happening in Resident Evil 2 as well.

      Basically, I can eject the disk fine, but when I press the selection on the quick menu to change what disc is inserted (Current disc index number), the whole system hangs. These are PBP files I created to make this process easier.

      On searching this forum, someone suggested that using the hotkey controls can work better. I've attempted this and the disk ejects fine, but as soon as I click the hotkey to change discs, the whole system hangs.

      Any ideas at all? I've been able to switch to disc 2 on both games, there seems to be a weird bug that I can't switch back to disc 1....

        I've just tried using an m3u file and the original bin and cue files. Same situation. When I try to change back to the first CD the whole system hangs. I can't be the only person experiencing this?

          Can you access the system by SSH when the lock-up occurs ?

            @mitu I can try this later. Is there something I should be looking for?

              @AssCabbage You can look in the /dev/shm/runcommand.log file to see if any errors are logged.

                  @AssCabbage Sure, that would work.

                    I'm experiencing the same issue, although with any kind of disc change on the Ps1. Would be very interested in a fix.

                      OK, so FTP still works, so the unit isn't actually completely dead.

                      Here's the log:

                        Do I need to raise a ticket for this? If so where? Or is it something stupid I'm doing?

                        I've been searching for this phrase and I can only see references to a bad build that went out a while ago.

                          Perhaps it's already fixed then. How old is your build of lr-pcsxrearmed? Have you tried a source update?

                            @quicksilver Nah those comments are from months ago and reference the emulator being able to start at all.

                            Yes, I tried a source update and there was no change. When I look at system info it says "1.8.5 - PCSX-ReARMed (R22 3c4ac5b)". Is this the version number?

                              There's no explicit error, can you try running with debugging enabled from the Runcommand launch menu ?

                              That's benign, it's just a warning from RetroArch that it cannot find a real CD-ROM unit attached.

                                "Run with Verbose logging"?
                                Where does the log file go?

                                  It's the same file (/dev/shm/runcommand.log), but with considerably more info. Post its contents to pastebin.com if you get it.

                                    @mitu Ah ok!

                                    Ah is typical with these things, I was actually able to swap to Disc 1 when I enabled logging!!
                                    I swapped back to disc 2 and then it crashed. Unfortunately it looks like it didn't pick up an error, just stops.

                                      OK, I've discovered something else.
                                      If I manage to change the disc without it hanging, when I go to quit the game, the system hangs and I can't get back to the RetroPie menu.

                                      I took a log from this: https://pastebin.com/KmDL51hM

                                      Has anyone any ideas at all? This is disastrous. Do I just start again and build a fresh image? I only made this card this week.

                                        Can't say we've heard about this particular freezing problem before.
                                        Are you using a proper power source/sd card, are you overclocking your Pi ? You havent' given any specific details about your system.

                                          I'm using a 5v 3A supply and getting no power errors. It isn't an official raspberry one, but I do have one and I'll swap to it and see, but it seems unlikely.

                                          No overclocks.

                                          The system is built from an official image and all I've done is updated everything and then installed and used SkyScraper.

                                          The card is a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10.

                                          The board is a Raspberry Motherboard PI 3 Model A+

                                          I'm using an official Sony PS3 controller to control the system. EDIT: I've obviously also installed sixaxis support.

                                          I don't think there's any other details I can give? What would you do in this situation @mitu ?

                                          @Zering Is your issue similar to what I'm seeing here? Could you give your system details?
