[ES Theme] OmegaDrive (updated to v 1.4)
-
@Unknown Once I add support for most of the systems that RetroPie can support, I'll add the higher end stuff, ie Wii, WiiU, Gamecube, Switch, PS2, PS3, etc. I'm planning on weekly updates adding 1-3 systems per new version, so it'll get there eventually.
-
@Arcanthur Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it.
-
Beautiful theme!
-
Can this be downloaded from ES themes on retropie yet?
-
@Unknown Not yet, I'm going to add support for a few more systems before I try to add it there
-
Incredible theme!
I've re-ordered my systems in es_systems.cfg and I have my Capcom roms in the fba folder, how do I get them to show as CPS in your theme? Is it by editing the path in es_systems.cfg?
-
@Avigrace under your es_systems.cfg for final burn (fba) you can change the <theme>fba</theme> to <theme>cps1</theme>
-
@Arcanthur Awesome, thanks!

Great! As soon as it's available and supports all Neo Geo's, I'm gonna use it.

@Arcanthur I have the same issues with my TG Mini theme. Oddly though the slow refresh only happens after I exit a game. At first boot everything is smooth and no issues. Weird. I’m going to have to run ‘top’ before and after to see what’s going on with the memory. Even setting the VRAM all the way doesn’t fix it.

Amazing work @Arcanthur ! these look as slick as the ones in v1.0.
Keep them coming please! (My offer to help still stands, btw) -
@GeekOB Thanks, hit me up at Arcanthur@gmail.com
Send me some examples of your work

Version 1.2 will be out in a few days. Adding SuperGrafx, VirtualBoy, and ZX Spectrum:

@Arcanthur I really like the design of the Auto Collections game pages. I'd be tempted to use a whole theme of just that design.
-
Love the look of this theme. Never installed one outside of the GUI before, I think I did it right, but it crashes ES as soon as I select it or reboot with it applied.
Here is what I did:
- Set VRAM limit in ES to 160 per your suggestion
- Downloaded a zip of the git repo
- Extracted the contents in a tmp folder on my server
- Created a 'themes' folder in ~/.emulationstation
- SCP'd the files from my server to the retropie ending up with ~/.emulationstation/themes/OmegaDrive-master/
- Restarted ES
- Selected the theme from the list in ES which was found after restarting ES
It crashes after a short time of loading, maybe 3 seconds or so, same thing if I leave it applied and reboot.
I am on a Raspberry Pi 4 with the RetroPie image loaded and updated just today.
Linux retropie 5.4.51-v7l+ #1327 SMP Thu Jul 23 11:04:39 BST 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux
ES Version is 2.9.3RP
File owner and permissions are as follows:drwxr-xr-x 60 pi pi 4.0K Aug 11 02:06 OmegaDrive-master
Please let me know what else I can provide to help figure this out. I am really excited to use the theme! Fantastic work!

@harshl hey I'm sorry you are having issues. I just ran into a similar issue trying to run my theme on Windows ES at 4K resolution. For whatever reason, I think it's memory related, ES crashes when you try to load the theme at 4K. If you happen to have your pi 4 running at 4k that may be the culprit.
-
@Arcanthur It is hooked to a 4K TV. I will try and increase the memory limit and see if that helps at all. Let me know if I can test anything for you.
Thanks!
-
@harshl check that RetroPie isn't running at 4K. If it is, change it to 1080p.
-
@Arcanthur Changed it to 1080p 60hz and all is well. No more crashing.
Thanks!
