New N64 emulator for libretro

I dont think it will be anytime soon for the Pi though
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3039904/the-5-things-that-would-have-made-raspberry-pi-3-better.htmlThe BroadCom VideoCore IV 3D graphics processor can play 1080p video at 60 frames per second, and it'll run OpenGL games. But it isn't compatible with Vulkan, a new gaming API that will bring visually stunning Linux games to PCs and mobile devices. Raspberry Pi could in the future be tempted to move over to the Vulkan-compatible ARM Mali GPU, but Broadcom has a lot invested in the CPU and GPU for the development board and so will hopefully offer Vulkan support.

I remember reading about the Vulkan API when it was first introduced and there was some early talk on it's possible use in an N64 emulator. To see this finally coming to light is very exciting. Unfortunately video processors have to directly support Vulkan for it to be an option and the VideoCore GPU of the current Pis doesn't have that support. However, it is expected that the next big enhancement to the Pi will be an improved GPU, so the RPi4 might actually deliver on this.
Edit: I didn't mean to reiterate information that you had already posted, but for some reason a previous edit of your post was being shown to me at the time.

Is there any mobile gpu out there with vulkan support? Some Nvidia GPUs could have support but i doubt there are any more. Even though twinaphex seems to use gpu compute shaders to run angrylions LLE plugins on the gpu now. LLE plugins need much compute power so i'am certain you will need a potent gpu to run this new emulator. Don't expect to much from mobile GPUs.

That's a very good point. I first ran a N64 emulator in 1999 and ever since, much like the carrot at the end of a stick, it seems that reliable emulation is always just around the corner.

There is another new libretro N64 emulator now. Just update RetroPie-Setup and install the new optional package lr-GLupeN64.
