I’m actually playing...
-
... Since the purchase of RPI4 and installing Retropie 4.6 with 480p only and roms on a USB 3 drive I’ve actually only been playing the last 9 months.
The PI has never even been shut down, steadily ready to be used for gaming.
I’ve completed these games since installing 4.6:
Zelda (NES)
Zelda - Links Awakening DX (GBC)
Zelda - A Link to the Past (SNES)
Zelda - The Minish Cap (GBA)
Zelda - Ocarina of Time (N64) - Best game all time
Zelda - The Phantom Hourglass (NDS)
Ratchet & Clank (PSP)
Jak & Daxter (PSP)
Castlevania (NES)
Super Castlevania (SNES)
Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (PS)
Colin McRae 2.0 (PS)
Super Metroid (SNES)
Metroid - Zero Mission (GBA)
Metroid - Fusion (GBA)
Donkey Kong Country 1,2,3 (SNES)Using Save State often and in game save seldom takes away the irritation of starting over again on game over, maximizing game enjoyment.
Thank you very much for your efforts Retropie-team! You’ve been giving me a great time!
(All games completed are games I played on the original console)
Edit: I only played one game at a time, beginning the next one when the current was completed.

Nice ! Lots of people here are lost in retropie tweaking and configuration, without playing that much (I'm one of them) :)
If you're somewhat a completionist, you should take a look at retroachievements (if not already done) ;)
It really spices up the play a bit, and sometimes helps to chose the next game. -
You are very righr with Ocarina of Time, it is a masterpiece, the highest rated and propably the best game of all times.
I am playing "Earthbound" (aka "Mother 2") atm, also a remarkable game

I tried that, but didn't get very far. Not surprising though, considering I dislike the "I'll stand still while you hit me, now you stand still while I hit you" style of fighting in games. It makes sense in board games, but I just don't have the patience for it in a video game.

The intention is for you to use your imagination a little bit - no one's "standing still" during a battle.
(By the way, the links to your ES themes are broken.)
-
@zerojay Thanks for the heads up on the theme links.
Edit: I fixed the links, and in going to github I discovered a 4th theme I'd built, that I completely forgot existed! Good ol' Indent, I can't believe I forgot about it.

I've got an 18 month old so completing games isn't something that happens too often. At the moment in my downtime from tinkering, I am playing:
MonsterWorld IV (Megadrive) - really good platform/RPG
Dragon's Lair (LaserDisc) - great for a quick play when I have five minutes.
Half-Life (PC Port) - never completed it back in the day so intent on doing that.
Killing Time (3DO) - FPS with some live action video and exploring mixed in.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
