Around a year ago I remember the subject of Raspberry Pi4 didn't have dedicated hardware video acceleration and Raspbian rendered everything with software mode. Has anything changed in the past year? I have RetroPie 4.7.1 but I can't find if it does have software or hardware rendering.

      Thanks!

'twas never true. All Pi models have accelerated GPU rendering for video or OpenGL(ES) support under Raspbian (Raspberry Pi OS).
