I don't know how but copying the script seems to have made the screen go blank when I go to the options menu in retropie.

This is strange, i don't understand how the script can effect the retropie menu. Are you sure you didn't delete anything?

      From the terminal try

      cd Retropie-Setup

      and then

      sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

Choose to update the script and then update t all core packages. I hope this will fix the problem.

My English isn't at a good level.

@windg I'd already tried an update to fix the problem. I went back to an old backup and recopied the scripts. That fixed it. Thanks

I see the developer is unable to replicate the problem. Should this become the default version for Retropie until the problem can be solved?

        Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
        ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

I believe a newer version will fix the problem.

I will try each new version of lr-ppsspp, ppsspp and will report back when the problem is fixed.

Same problem here. Burnout, Outrun, gran turismo (no sound), gta liberty and vice city... It's a non exhaustive list for now. What a mess. I'm currently re testing all my romset after the update and it's a massacre. Fortunately I have a backup so I can run the 0dcaeb7 version of ppsspp without any problem.

@windg can you share the built binary? I'm using libreelec-rr (you can't build from source using libreelec). I've tried the lakka nightly and pulled the ppsspp from that, but the problem is the same.

I hope i upload the correct files :

                lr-ppsspp(v1.9.3)

                ppsspp(v1.10.2)

@windg thanks but it seems i'm missing a dependency for that version on libreelec-rr. Wonder if that's related to the rendering issue.

Chiming in, same thing with Vice City and first time with emulators ontop of that. Couldnt start better i guess haha :)

i'm trying Windg solution with placing the script he uploaded and then updating from within Retropie-setup. Waiting for the process to complete and will report back soon afterwards.

Update: After update completed, nothing changed sadly. Where do i check whats the version of the emu?

@seithan You change the script for ppsspp or the lr-ppsspp emulator ?

The warnings are normal of procedure.

Hi, sorry for the l8 response but work schedule...

Anyway about the script, i think i used it "as the retropie script", was it intended for the psp emu? I have "ppsspp" installed though. Sais, "installed - via source", so i guess i must have used the aforementioned script to force downgrade to a previous version.

Yes, you have to change the default script so you can downgrade the ppsspp.

You can do this if you follow this steps(you will need a keybord):
First uninstall the later version of ppsspp and choose to clean source folder (if this option is available).

                            1. When you are in the RetroPie press the F4, this will open the terminal screen.
                            2. Then enter the command so you can modify the ppsspp file :
                            sudo nano /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators/ppsspp.sh

                            1. Change the line ```
                            rp_module_repo="git https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp.git master"

                            to be :

                            rp_module_repo="git https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp.git v1.10.2"

                            1. to save the change, press ctrl+O, ENTER
                              and after that ctrl+X

The change has complete, to return to RetroPie screen type to the terminal :

                            emulationstation

Update the RetroPie- Script from RetroPie menu and choose to install the ppsspp(not lr-ppsspp) from source. If everything is correct after the installation the Branch in the package version information must be v1.10.2 .

@windg Thanks for this, everything works again. It's strange that these latest ppsspp updates broke a lot of games. Games that used to work without issues for me like peacewalker, manhunt, ultimate alliance 2, 3rd birthday, tony hawk, and burnout had become unplayable.
