Since Streets of Rage Remake is so awesome and free will it ever become a part of RetroPie more conveniently? I got it on my setup and I love it; crazy great game. Some of the video options are not working or make the game crash. Other stuff is not operable. I hope it is 100% working someday.

Yes that would be fine, if SorR would be in the standard install.

        There are some question:

        • Is it possible to end the game with the controller pad?
        • Is there a way to set the game files to annother location? (ROMS/ports would be fine)
        • For convinience install... can a Joypad be the standard set for Player 1 - this would make a Keyboard attach unnecessary

I hope this game continues to be worked on for Retropie/Raspberry Pi. I'm sure the system can handle it with Vsync and the stuff that crashes it currently. This game is just crazy fun.

It is a closed source game. It has a Linux port, but I don't know if it has been compiled/ported to ARM processors.

There is OpenBOR (Open Beats of Rage) which is open source.

            https://sourceforge.net/projects/openbor/

There's a way to properly exit into the Ports menu. You need to grab the system.txt file inside the mod folder and choose PSP as the system to use. Surprisingly, this will allow you to choose 'Exit' in the main menu. I did notice that SoRMaker doesn't work. It causes SorR to crash into the Ports menu. That's a real bummer, because if you want to play any of the mods you need to access it. If anyone has a possible solution to this problem, please let me know.

              Thanks :-).

SoRR and OpenBOR are two completely different things.

OpenBOR is open-source so it should be easier to support on RetroPie however.

OpenBOR hasn't worked for a LONG time though...since RetroPie 3.7 or 3.8 I think (and I've been trying to get this to work for the last 2 versions of RetroPie with no success since Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are some of my favorite games of all time!)

I started work on openbor, but didn't have a chance to finish it. I have the latest version built, but there are some issues still making it use the full screen.

I know this is an old post, but if you change the system to psp, you lose the 2 player option. Ive been searching for a legit way to quit out of the game for a few weeks now

This is great news! I can't wait. The newest builds are supposed to have SO MUCH extra functionality when compared to the original Beats of Rage version....plus there's so many different variants we could be playing!

The guys on the ChronoCrash (OpenBOR) forums might be able to help you. Are you familiar with them? They said the most current build is 4354. Here's my post over there.

I think SorR is broken now on Retropie. Mine use to work and does not anymore.

SorR works well on retropie 4.4 with RPi3b

This is what got me looking into OpenBOR, where I saw @darknior's enhancements.

It's a shame I need too keep a keyboard on hand just to exit.

@GreenHawk84 I saw you posted about how to remove OpenBOR. Gave up?

@cyperghost said in [Tutorial] OpenBOR - the complete guide:

                                            @spud11

I did find with SoRR that it has no exit key (unless you go through the menu). I wound up creating a bash script which "hard" exits SoRR which I invoke via xboxdrv

You can call Multi Switch Shutdown tool with multi_switch.sh --es-closeemu this will terminate the current emulator and will send you back to ES. I think that's rather easier then to make a fake-keypress, isn't it?

I haven't had time to even begin looking into this
