I don't know if this could be an issue for any RetroPie users, but if it is, then this may be necessary to know about immediately. I am not very knowledgeable about the depths of Linux code.

It's not and issue for RetroPie images and also not for RaspiOS - the one the RetroPie uses or the current RaspiOS (bookworm based) version.

I'd appreciate also NOT posting this kind of click-baity videos/news if you're not familiar with the domain - they're not worth the clicks and most of them are just poorly explaining the original issue while at the same time hyperbolically exagerating the impact of the security issue(s) presented.

If you are concerned with security w.r.t. Debian, the definitive source is https://debian.org/security. The Debian related annoucement is here or the (highly technical) initial report. As @abj mentioned, the Pi engineers already responded to the same question in the RPI forums.
