This is my Sega Mega CDPI that has a Raspberry PI Model B in it.

It has Mega Drive and Mega CD model 1 case.

The leds work but don't flicker, the Mega CD leds come on when you boot Retropie, the only led that turns of is the green access led that goes off when you shutdown the RPI.

Soldered the power supply to the Mega Drive on off switch, just need to fix the reset button so its connected to the reset hotkey so i can reset a game.

It can use the original Mega Drive controllers too,it has a Mayflash MD USB adapter to fit 2 controllers,3 button or 6 button controllers.

Used a scart connector with phono connectors on,Red,White and Yellow,It uses composite cos I like the old way the picture on screen looks.(not too sharpe)

The power supply I used is from a PS Vita work fine, but it has a notch in the usb connector slot and you need to file it down so you can fit a usb to mini usb cable.

The front of the Mega CD is a printout of a photo of the front of a Mega CD I downloaded from the net so it don't have a CD draw.

      Here are some pics..

Nice work! I do love the look of the first generation Megadrive. Can you show some more details or close ups (if you have them) on how you wired up the original power switch. Did you cut the section of the original motherboard that had the switch on it away or did you de-solder the switch (or even just got with a new switch altogether)? As you know from my thread I'm planning on doing something similar with a MegaDrive 2.
