Any idea fom where can i download retroarch latest versio 1.3.6 for rpi? as kodi addon or simple zip?

@badboy1985ro
RetroArch doesn't exist in the form of a Kodi addon. The Kodi team are working to incorporate RetroArch into their software as a additional media layer named 'RetroPlayer', but it will be a while before it is fully implemented. It's also my understanding that RetroArch doesn't exist in the form of a zip file that is ready to go for the Raspberry Pi. The software must be compiled to run on the Pi from it's source code. There are a few guides out there explaining this process. The first one up in Google is:

I am not rely interested to have it in a form of kodi addon. I wanna know from where is the retropi downloading the binaries and the source code of the latest retroarch 1.3.6 for rpi cause i wanna try it with rom colection browser in kodi. So basicali i need to install on on os retro arch not necessary from kodi

The link above details how to install RetroArch in Raspbian if you plan to use that as your base.
This link details alternate instructions on how to setup RetroArch for use in 'Advanced Launcher'.
Finally, a zip file of the RetroArch GitHub can be accessed here. -
How about retropi that already has retroarch install and a launcher with kodi , is there a tutorial for it? i don't like to change between gui when i wan't to play a movie or a game so i prefer kodi

Outside of the 'Adanced Launcher' tutorial that I listed above, what you're looking to do isn't really possible yet until the Kodi team finishes their work on

I managed to install retro-arch on librelec. There is a kodi addon called gamestarter. Now my problem is how can i fin retroarch subsystem names. I notice that wmulation station is loading rom using retroarch -L "core path and name" " rom path" but i wanna start using subsystem names like retroarch "core name" "rom path". Now how do i find the core name for each emulator?
ex: retroarch mame2003 "rom path name" -

You'll need to reference the directory containing the cores. Taking a blind guess, the location might be
~/.kodi/cores/
. If you're able to launch RGUI, you can check in 'Settings'>'Directory'>'Core Dir' to get the exact location.Edit: I must have been high, in a hurry, or both when I wrote this. The core directories for RetroArch are in
/opt/retropie/libretrocores/
-
i need core or subsystem name not file name of the core
-
For example. Adanced launcher strats a game using the comand "retroarch mame2030 %rom%"
Now mame2003 is the core name and the core file name is different. How do i find the core names for all emulators?
emulation station starts the game by using the -L param and specifiing path to the core file and path to the rom file. I wan;t the core name to cfg advance launcher. -

One of the devs here might be able to help, but at this point we're pretty far away from a relevance to RetroPie. You might find that you have better luck asking these questions in the actual RetroArch forums.
-
So why 1 o f dev don't answer. i wanna use the retropi i mage but replace the front end with kodi and rom collection browser but i don't know haw to configure the rom collection browser. It asks for the retroarch.sh script and the core name of the emulator to launch, it is not rocket science but i don;t know hot to find the core names, i notice they are using path to core names but has to be something easier.

You have to understand that the type of support you're asking for falls well outside of RetroPie's intended functionality.
i don't know haw to configure the rom collection browser.
That being the case, you might also try asking around here as well. Together with this forum and the official RetroArch forum, you'll increase your chances of getting the answers you need.
it is not rocket science
Maybe not, but it's also completely untested and not within the intended normal use. This might simply be a can of worms that many just don't want to open. Someone may still reply here with the information you're looking for, but I would definitely try hedging my bets on this with the other links provided.
-
@mediamogul if I may. I agree. It is outside of the scope of the retropie project and you'll have better luck with retroarch/kodi
But if OP doesn't even know what the core names are or how to find them it's highly doubtful he's in a position to be able to get a kodi based rom launcher to work. And as its out of the scope of the retropie project none of the devs have any interest in such a thing as its more in the realm of kodi dev. If a community member is interested then more power to them, but I don't anticipate this being a function of RetroPie in any official development.

@badboy1985ro
It's an interesting idea, but it's also an incredibly long path to walk for what amounts to a change in interface. If you ever do get manage to get this operational, I'd be interested to hear the details. Who knows, with the addition of 'RetroPlayer' in the near future, maybe there will even be a greater demand for this type of thing from the masses.
-
@mediamogul its also possible that down the road kodi with the xmb menu may also act as a launcher of sorts which could be a way to integrate kodi that way too. Many ways to do things.
-
The future is truly fantastic. Although I'm still waiting on my flying pants.

@mediamogul
Bull shit.
I have tested retroplayer today. No scraping options or tutorial, have to manual install all the emulators and beside that issues with the controllers. I doubt that dev team of retropi does not know how to start rcb in kodi. And why all the movies on youtube with only adding roms not also installing the emulators. And why able to install kodi on retropi since i can't use all the ad-dons from the repos provided officially or not especially when it comes with retroarch installed? So retro pi devs are implementing a software that have no idea hove to use?
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
