Hey guys I'm searching for randomized/endless/rogue-like games for the Pi. Cladun x2 is very great until now (since it's a PSP game it's not that smooth on the Pi3 for me... but it's playable!) and I'm looking for more. I'd love to crawl through dungeons with a character and slay monsters and so on. Permanent progress would be awesome, but "hardcore rogue-likes" are okay aswell. As long as it's endless and/or with randomized content... I'd like to play it!

In addition I'm looking for a game engine to develop a game for the pi (placed in "Ports" or something...), do you know one?! I'm actually looking into Godot Engine and I've read that the App Game Kit could do this, too. GameMaker could do this aswell, but it's quite expensive to buy the corresponding DLC for the ARM export?!

I hope that you can help me :). I love RetroPie! Especially since I've installed Kodi on it... really great to have a Gaming Console / Media Station hybrid for the TV :D!

Have a great day everyone :)!

Nethack or any of the its variants run fine on Linux and can probably run on a Pi.

@paragrimm Hi there! I've created a scriptmodule to install a Godot "emulator" for RetroPie https://github.com/hiulit/RetroPie-Godot-Engine-Emulator

Also, I've compiled Godot binaries for the Raspberry Pi 4, including the editor (IDE) so you can create games on it :) https://github.com/hiulit/Unofficial-Godot-Engine-Raspberry-Pi

My little contributions to the RetroPie project:

          • Shell-Script-Boilerplate
          • Fun-Facts-Splashscreens

Rogue and nethack would probably work, but likely need a keyboard. I'm not sure how many buttons are needed to make that really playable with just a joypad.

I recently came across pico-8, seems inexpensive and ports to run on RPi, development environment, etc.
