Pixel Theme
-
Yeah that's exactly what I meant. Also I realized I was using the metapixel theme that had ripped you off :/...... so I just swapped to the real pixel theme and boom done.
-
@backstander for the pixel theme to stay within theme. However I went ahead and put one together. The logo I made, the background I got from Google images. Both were done to theme as pixel art.

@Swagman89 I prefer to think of it as "inspired by" Pixel hehe.
Basically I wanted to use the Pixel theme, but at the time it didn't display any metadata, and I wanted it, so I made my own version of Pixel with metadata. I custom made all the borders and half the backgrounds. Granted I used Rook's awesome console and logo artwork, but I also asked permission before doing so.
However, I'm also lazy, so I only made folders for the systems that I would use. As such, there are many missing.

@Rookervik
I love this theme but since I'm using Steve's multibootpi setup I have an entry for Raspbian alongside all of my other consoles but instead of a flashy retro logo and background its just the word raspbian all lowercase with a solid white background and it's a real buzzkill. I was wondering if you could whip up a logo really quickly, I would myself but I don't know how to edit the images or the theme itself in emulationstation :/ -
@coreoptic The simplest option would be to duplicate one of the existing folders and rename it to "raspbian". You'll then need to change the console and logo images to match the folder name.
I found this one with a 5 second Google search:
You can use an online image editor to cut it apart and use either logo for the console image, and use the text for the logo image. Granted the won't be all awesome and pixely like Rook's stuff, but it's better than a while screen with black text.

Will there be a Famicom Disk System or a Super Famicom set in the near future?
-
@ClarkNova I'm not sure what you mean by "set," but there are themes for Famicom Disk System and Super Famicom in the pixel theme. You just need to direct your SNES to load the "sfc" theme. Famicom Disk System is already set up to load "fds."
-
@coreoptic I've never used the Multiboot so I'm not sure what logo you're talking about. I would need a little more information. I'm off for 3 days so I'm excited to do a little artwork.
-
@Rookervik Sounds like they just have an entry for Raspbian Desktop in his ES Menu. So I'm guessing it's just a link to a shell script to jump to the desktop. So a stretched raspbian logo would be pretty doable shoved into a palette swap of the main background. That would be pretty cool for several different applications imo.
-
@coreoptic So maybe something like this?
-
Any ideas for the carousel?
-
Can someone catch me up on what this carousel thing is?
-
@itsnitro
White bar center of the screen console logos on it. -
@Rookervik said in Pixel Theme:

Maybe what @madmodder123 is asking here is little enough. :-)
I would like to see it too. ;-) -
@meleu Do I just make the icon? (128 x 96). Or does it need to have a theme, too?
-
@Rookervik we mean an icon to fit well in the pixel theme (yes, just the icon).
But if you're feeling inspired I would love an icon with the same "look&feel" as the default RetroPie ones (again, just the icon).
Currently I'm using that joystick emoji because I have no talent with CG software and it is free (creative commons). -
@madmodder123 Something like this?
-
@Rookervik
Hell yeah, that looks awesome, I can't wait! =)
Thanks! -
@madmodder123 Ok, well what do I do? Just link it to you? LOL I don't even fully understand what it's for.
-
Haha...I also have no idea what everyone is talking about but I love your joystick icon @Rookervik !
