setting controlBlock service to gamepadtype: mame ?

Hi,

I still haven't bought the controlblock, but I'd like to know if I setup the /etc/controlblockconfig.cfg to "gamepadtype" : "mame", will the retropie read the key presses as a standard keyboard.
For example if I press the key that was connected to the input on the controlBlock that says "Enter", will it register as "ENTER" key on a keyboard, when I try to configure the controllers on first boot on retropie?
