RetroPie-Extra Repository

love the fact you have simcoupe!! awesome!!
-
I can't seem to find Beebem in the experimental section of RetroPie-Setup.sh. Does anything need to be done for it to show up other than following the instructions on your GitHub repository?
-
Beebem is not included in the master branch. If you want the script - in whatever state its in - you will need to check out the beebem branch. It's not in master branch because you cannot load games from a command line as far as I can tell.
-
I saw you had plans to add a DDR/Guitar Hero clone in the future... I would LOVE to get my paws on Frets on Fire or DDR (I like the idea of building a dedicated controller for these games!). Love what you are doing please keep up the good work!
-
@schmulkfuster Unfortunately, they require OpenGL and in my experimentation, glshim didn't help things either.

@zerojay
Thanks!
I would like to suggest adding Maelstrom to the PORTS section. I run it from the command line or the Desktop, not sure how to add it to the PORTS section yet...https://www.libsdl.org/projects/Maelstrom/source.html
It is like if Arkanoid was the sequel to Breakout, Malestrom would be the sequel to Asteroids -- with power ups, multipliers, etc.
(Early 90's pre-Jobs Mac OS game, ported to SDL for Mac, Windows & Linux. The binary and source are in the Wheezy (and most Linux) repos. I have compiled my own Led Zeppelin game sounds made all those years ago. There's even a section with different sampled game sounds, however the default sounds IMHO are the best. In Mac OS we would just replace the Maelstrom_Sounds file, but now that file gets compiled in to the game. )

Please use the RetroPie-Extra issue tracker, for filing bugs that you find with the scripts as well as making requests. It makes things much easier for me to follow than chasing down several random threads on different message boards.
You can find the repository along with installation instructions over at https://github.com/zerojay/RetroPie-Extra/. Please feel free to give me your feedback, bugs and ideas for more scripts.
Do as he asks if you want it in his repo.

@iesposta I'm very very intimately familiar with Maelstrom. I'll try to take a look at it. :)
-
@herb_fargus Amusing how quickly that got ignored, huh? :)
-
@iesposta Because I remembered playing this so much on my old classic Mac: https://github.com/zerojay/RetroPie-Extra/commit/d90a086ca19749aca29dc5bb1641a0fe263ba17d
-
@zerojay I hope many, many people find Maelstrom as enjoyable as we have!
-
Wow nicely done!
I am very much hoping for a Super Mario War pre-configged for ES, could you enlighten me or does it require a separate controller setup?
But the options look AWESOME! I love me some homebrew!
-
@ShootHere It already exists.
-
Be still my beating heart!
Really? I must admit I looked a while back and sort of figured there wasn't much change since the original project seemed to be pretty much abandoned although the forums show signs of revival.
Awesome!
EDIT: not knowing the situation, change the wording.
-
@ShootHere well... Yes dead and buried literally as the main dev of super Mario War committed suicide. A new dev from Hungary has been working on a netplay port (which is the module I included in zerojays repo) but it's very alpha. Regular gameplay has no issues though. But RetroPie by default already has super Mario War included.

i installed some ports from your repository but all off the new *.sh files are empty...
EDIT: when i run the scripts over ssh again it work

Re: My Extras installs not showing up?
There's en Emulationstation setting I i ever knew about.
Main Menu > Other Settings > "Parse Gamelists Only" that was set ON.
When on, it ignores files in rom folders if they don't have an image scraped?
Turning it to OFF made everything appear.Kodi 16 works with AirPlay music, and video if you haven't moved on to iOS9.
Maelstrom is there, but it crashes back to "PORTS".
Edit:
My previous build is messing up your install script.
My fault. -
A lot of new stuff has gone in the past few days, including a few things that we didn't think would be possible before, mainly for those on Pi 3's. If it's been a while since you checked out the repo, I encourage you to take a look. :)
Maybe this thread should be stickied?
-
@schmulkfuster FoFix is now in the repo for you to take a shot at. A bit choppy on a pi3, but playable enough for me to score 5 stars on a bass song. :)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
