Oldroom theme W.I.P. new 1.9 Beta + media packs
-
Updated Atari 5200 with better images.
-
I will be watching the progress of this theme, looks nice and I am interested on it
BTW: the Wonderswan cartriges are not so rare so you will have tons of examples for this theme
Finaly if you can could you incorporate an auditive feedback (a sound) for the game list Scrolling into your theme or in a separate version of it? You could use the sounds of simplebigart or ask Rookervik if you can use the sounds of the new carbon theme
-
@sergioad Theme already have sounds for gamelist scrolling and system change, if you take a look at the videos at first post you can notice that, so I don't understand your request.
About wonderswan... I just finished a few systems yesterday, a new redesign for game gear with more quality, finished Atary linx except for system view image (there is no zoid image for that one), and I did all 3D Boxes for Neo Geo Pocket romset. Today just finished atari 5200, and now I'm with neo geo pocket and neo geo pocket color.
I also added a few systems days ago, I don't remember what are now, and fixed some logos on basic and detailed view, fixed wrong marquee size for fba, and I'm modifing empty 3D boxes for all systems and improving some shadows in some systems.
So wonderswan when I have a little more time, unfortunately a day only have 24 hours.

Added more marquees to Atari 5200...
-
Great work so far, but I suggest you to download one of the 128gb Retropie images, they already have every marquee, video and boxart in there. Some boxarts are not in 3D but anyway, that would save you a lot of time and hassle. You don't have to re-invent the wheel, though.
-
@donkeykong Most of retropie images out there are incomplete, if no all, and have 2D images instead of 3D boxes, If you see that one system has all images or boxes, it's just because they removed the roms without art and the romset it's incomplete, so no, no one has every image like you say.
Also you seen my theme? 2D boxes are not for my theme.
If I make some missing 3D boxes it's just because really doen't exist, you can't download it from screenscraper, emumovies or anything else.
-
@Nismo That's true I haven't checked if the romsets are complete, maybe they just removed roms without proper artwork, so that it looks complete. I just downloaded a 200gb image and if there is something you can't find online, maybe it's inside that image because someone else took the effort to create some artwork but hasn't published it to a scraper website. I would be glad to support you in anyway.
-
@Nismo thank you very much, I hope to try it someday
-
@donkeykong Can be possible, but unfortunately, usually the images outside are from people who want to make money with the work of other people or communities, and doesn't put effort on details or contribute , just make it all the thing work and go for money (and sometimes things doesn't work anyway).
And of course I don't want to download 125 gb images just for try if i'm lucky to find a few missed images.
If you want to help, you can see what is missing in the media packs looking inside "missing" text for a system.
Regards.
-
@Nismo I uploaded some artwork at google drive https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-okePBdELOaRjJmeldvX2E5Nzg?usp=sharing there are some images you are missing from atari2600 and I uploaded folders you are currently missing from your media packs. Uploading wonderswan and wonderswan color atm, hope it's useful for you. Will upload more upon request.
-
@donkeykong Thanks, I think I have that ones, just I don't have time to make them in the same 3d boxes format and size yet. Are the missing images inside the folder "boxes" or not only the missing ones?
-
@Nismo I just uploaded the whole atari2600 folder I extracted from that 200gb image. The images are inside the boxart folder.
Edit: Wonderswan upload done. -
@donkeykong Thanks, maybe I can find some missing images there. As I told you, if you take a look, there are a lot of mixed images, 2d, 3d and different sizes, that things always happens with the retropie images outside, but don't worry, if I find some missing images for the games there, I can make new 3d boxes from the ones you uploaded.
When I make missing 3d boxes I usually do a search for images in google and try find the one with highest quality, but I'm sure your upload would be useful.
At this moment I'm focused in theme because I want to upload a new version with the fixes and new systems very soon, I hope to upload it tomorrow.
-
@Nismo @donkeykong Do either of you have marquees for Gameboy games (Race Days or Word Zap) that aren't cartridge images? I have boxart if you need to see what it looks like.
-
@HurricaneFan I have 569 wheels for gameboy not uploaded yet.
I think it's better to read the missing.txt in the packs and see what's missing, but the missing text it's only for 3d boxes.
When I have time I will upload missing marquees text too.
No, I don't have markees for these games HurricaneFan.
-
@Nismo I added Sega Game Gear marquees if you want to grab those.
-
@HurricaneFan Thank you very much, I like the interst of this community to help.
This project is becoming a team work, and not just mine. I like it.
-
@Nismo Let me know what other stuff your missing and I can try to fill in your gaps.
-
@HurricaneFan Like I said before, I'm working in the theme right now, but when I resume my work making 3d boxes or marquees, I'll ask here if I don't find something. Thanks for the help.
-
@HurricaneFan I have an idea, I can upload or write here a list for marquees (wheel art) missed for one system, since there are a lot of systems with the same game, it's not so difficult to find the missing ones in other systems just doing a search for the name inside your ES folder.
That was my plan for missing marquees before making them by myself, but I don't have time right now, so people can help that way while I can spend more time on missed 3d boxes or the theme.
It only takes to me a minute to prepare one list of missing marquees for a system.
What do you think?
