ROM Visualizer is a web based application that lets you explore your rom set on a single page.

By coloring, scaling, filtering and grouping the rom set you can easily check:

      • Games that allocates a lot of disk space, but is never played.
      • Games that you likely enjoy, but you never played.
      • Games with highest rating from a specifik developer and genre.
      • The highest rated games with 4 player support.
      • And so on

The goal is to incorporate it into Retropies web management, so you can browse your Retropie's content from any computer, tablet or smartphone in your network.

This is the thread where we talk about the development and feature requests for ROM Visualizer.

Current state is still using a static rom set provided by herb_fargus.

        New version is uploaded!

        These issues has been fixed:

        • Fix handling of null values
        • Fix filters to work with decimal values

        These features has been added:

        • Ability to enable/disable a filter
        • Ability to include/exclude null values in a filter

These features needs to be added:

        • Be able to set custom color schemes and directions (now its green for low and red for high)
        • Sort the selectables descending, maybe group "others" if less than 1%
        • Check All / Uncheck All in selectables

        Demo: http://elitlogik.se/visualizer.html

        Please give feedback!

I'm just about to finish the web front end, so I'm starting to think about the back end.

Is there a NGINX already that I can use? Otherwise, maybe I can package NGINX+PHP+Visualizer.

The second question, is there a MySQL alternative for storing the meta data or did we never go down that road?

Cool idea. I was just thinking recently that it would be great to have sort of a webtool where you can browse all your games/system maybe including just a boxart so that you can a) remotly view what you have b) show it off to friends maybe to see what they would like to play etc.

Looking at this tool i guess the main goal isn't exactly that but its not far from it so i hope this project goes far and wide :)

Did I mention I like data and statistics? Of course I could swap the graph area to a row list of games.

However I'm still having issues with a web service front end letting me have access to gamelist.xml and all the box art. Perfect would be to integrate with an existing one.
