Pi inside a Famicom

So, I won, well bid more than someone else for a dead Fami in the UK, afer my Mega Pi, I plan on an alternate case, due to FlyingTomahawk showing the rear of the Famicom looking good for port replacements.
Currently waiting on 2 USB NES controllers which I plan on wiring though the rear holes in, but transplanting to the original controllers, but whilst I wait, I was wondering...
Thoughts on painting the console? waiting on it to arrive, the ebay shot shows yellowing to the console, so I'm tempted at getting some white Plasti Kote paint, so when its pulled apart, giving it a bright new lease of life (Not going with the retro brite method, did that to my Amiga 1200, and sunshine is limited this time of year).
I used Plasti Kote on a toy chainsaw for an Evil Dead halloween costume, and the stuff gave a good end result, and is fairly hard wearing.
If need be, I can alway re create the front stickers, even tempted at a new one with a raspberry in the Japanese.
To spray or not to spray? I'm swaying towards a fresh longer lasting white, and lamenting what may be a missing front port cover, I had forgot about that, so it's another hidden USB port I think, recessed enough for a USB stick for easy access.

@MadRikXIV If it was me I would take it apart and clean it well. I wouldn't want to paint it, mainly because of the decals. Famicom controller wires are really short so I'd either put way longer wires on or do the wireless thing like @FlyingTomahawk is going to do (assuming they're the same case size).
Man, now you and @FlyingTomahawk have me wanting to get a Famicom…

@obsidianspider I'm swapping the controllers with USB ones, after seeing they are screwed cases, not sure what length of cable is yet, similar ones are around 6 foot, hoping the board and everything will be close to the original in position and size.
I have some very low tack masking tape, and can recreate and clean up the Japanese sticker with Photoshop, just waiting to see how clean it is, hurry up postie.

@MadRikXIV Very nice! I'd be sure to inspect the replacements before removing the decals from the Famicom. Not only for quality, but also to make sure the Japanese writing is the same. For all I know it could say "the person who put this sticker on is a werido"

Very true, although, I was tempted to do one in japanese with 'If she knew what this cost, she won't be impressed' :D My own little 'Easter Egg'

What do you mean by cover? The red thing that covers the cartridge entrance?He sure does have a impressive spare parts selection though. Too bad no one is offering a brand new top cover (white). Someone with a 3D printer could get it done though.
Regarding the shipping, Japan does not export game stuff and if you know a store here in Japan that does then they are doing it illegally.
I have no idea and they probably neither as to why that rule still exist these days.
It was meant to prevent the disturbance of markets. Long time ago the Japanese were the fastest to release videogame titles and to not interfere with foreign markets they created this rule. Every game cover, even today says "for Japan only". Every carrier will refuse to transport any packages that contain videogames.That's the story behind it.
That said, no he doesn't ship internationally. -

That bit, not sure if the one I got has that piece.
And learnt something new about Japan, odd export law, as there was a lot of Famicoms on eBay that allowed me to bid.
Will investigate the stickers in the US, as a respray is my preferred option, It needs a new life, and not a look like its sat in a smokey pub for the weekend.

Officially yes, it is prohibited to export videogames to other countries.
Are you sure you bought the stuff from Japan directly and not Hongkong?If the seller is smart he'll just write "toy" on the declaration papers and the post office or other carrier will transport it. If you happen to write videogames on it then they'll most likely refuse to accept the package.

@FlyingTomahawk I bought my Super Famicom from an eBay seller in Japan. It was no issue at all.

Ebay seller = private person evtl. a foreigner? = possible.
I didn't say you can't get stuff, I just say that according to the laws here it is prohibited.
Try to order at stores like amazon japan or other stores, no one will ship. Ebay sellers or stores in Hongkong like Play-asia will ship stuff.I worked in the videogame business for over 10 years and even owned an online store and we never could import directly from Japan wholesale people. So we used to go through private people that went around to get the stuff for us.

@FlyingTomahawk yeah i have bought a lot of video game stuff straight from japan. I never paid attention to the labels though as i never thought there was an issue.
