if using an hdmi to vga cable doesnt have a way to display 15kz output then you can get one of these adapters. it was really cheap when i bought mine. i have never used it so i cant say how well it works. i want to get a crt sometime so i dug this out to have if i need it. i originally bought it for an arcade machine but it supported 33kz as well so i dint need to use it then. that db15 to db9 you posted is for a 15 pin apple computer to a 9 pin vga monitor. not sure if it works the other way around bu i believe it should work. and the second link you posted is a bad link so i have no clue what you were asking about

@edmaul69
Thanks.
the second link is a pic of the adpator. it's supposed to be bi-directional and i plan on using a gert vga and my rpi to output 240p. I have the proper timings for 15khz.
but wasn't sure if that vga to db 15 adaptor is all i needed. -
@nitrogen_widget that should be all you need besides a cable or two

Got vga out on my rpi today. :) -
@nitrogen_widget feel free to share any info/settings you have if you get it working with 15kz. I would love to know if it works without needing an adapter like the one i posted

@nitrogen_widget looking at the specs of the applecolor high resolution rgb monitor, it is strictly 640x480. But i cant find anything that says it is strictly 15khz. If you have an hdmi to vga then you should be able to hook up the 15 pin adapter and be up and running.

applecolor high resolution rgb monitor
you are correct.
"640x480 (35.0 kHz Horiz. Scan, 66.7 Hz Vert. Scan)"
but it will take 15khz also.I have the GERT VGA and hdmi to vga adaptors so just waiting on the 15 pin adapter.
Karateka on the same type of monitor i played it on in gradeschool. :)

@nitrogen_widget yeah if you set the pi to 320x240 i believe it will display in 480i. Ugh...
