New Comic Book Theme!
-
@tmntturtlguy The 16:9 version of ComicBook SE looks freakin awesome with the Wheel Art. Is Steven Selph's Scraper capable of adding those images to the gamelist file, or do I have to add them manually? I have the Wheel Art images already.
-
@beastmode thanks, i don't know if the scraper can add them in. I did them all manually, unfortunately. I don't have a huge game collection so it wasn't so bad.
-
@tmntturtlguy I'm in for quite a bit of editing then, dude lol.
-
@tmntturtlguy Is this the proper text to use in the gamelist file for your theme? If so, then it seems Steven Selph's Scraper is capable of adding the information to the file.

@beastmode sorry for the delayed response on this, for some reason it didn't show up in my notifications. Yes that is the proper line for the "Wheelart" in the SE version of the theme.
-
@serotonin i have just updated the theme to include amigacd32 per your request. The system background is the same as the regular amiga, but the comic logo is updated. Hope it works for you. I took the colors from the original console logo colors.
-
All, I have added amigacd32 system and I have changed the TMNT folder to now be tmnt. If you created a custom system using @meleu's script you will need to modify your es_systems.cfg to be lowercase. If you are using @pjft new build no modifications will be required after you update. This change was made to be inline with the new custom systems naming convention per @dmmarti thread here: themes custom collection standardized naming

This is great stuff! I haven't dabbled into custom theming yet. I am still using the standard Retropie Menus. I don't know how to get video previews and all that stuff yet, it doesn't seem very intuitive to acquire. Again, nice work!
-
Thanks so much. Ill download the update on my pi when I'm back home again ! Now everything will be in the awesome comic book font :)
-
@tmntturtlguy Cool Themes! Can i have the .PSD for the comic effect to make a wallpaper too?
-
@pittstone doesn't exist, the image is made up of 2 files one from photoshop and one from indesign along with filtering from Inkscape and compression from riot.
-
@tmntturtlguy Oh, O.k. Can i ask you, to make a Wallpaper for me?
I have made a Folder for SNES MSU-1 Games and it works great. Only a nice Wallpaper is Missing. I have a Logo, too!
-
How do I get NINTENDO HACKS and SUPER NES HACKS to show up in the theme?
-
@giga you need to add them to your es_systems.cfg
-
@pittstone it looks like you already have everything you need??? The black border is a seperate image file that will automatically be added by the theme. The dither comic effect can be added to the images in photoshop by using the pixel filter or in Inkscape using the newsprint filter. I used Inkscape and duplicate the image layer and place the newsprint filter with all angles at 15 degrees. You can play around until you get the desired effects.

Not 100% sure if this is the best place to post this as it is my first post.
I noticed that the Supergrafx logo is missing once you enter the Supergrafx menu. I figured out that a file was named wrong and fixed it on my build. The "system 3.svg" file had no space in it. Adding the space fixed it for me.
-
Still waiting on @TMNTturtlguy 's official take on this, here was my first attempt at creating the Achievements collection system logo:
I loved it, and have been using it forever now. But then I realized.. "Crap! I spelled it wrong!" So I spent all day today trying to remember how I made it. It's not nearly as good. For some reason, my half-tone filter is adding black to the dots. Maybe some help can come my way? Maybe TMNT can make a real one for me? :) I did this all in Photoshop.
-
@hansolo77 You owe me!
-
^_^ I don't know how you did it. Looks WWWAAAAYYYY better than mine!!
-
@hansolo77 Your's isn't so bad at all! I use a combination of illustrator and photoshop. I set adjustments to the text, create 4 convert the text to outlines and create 4 layers of the text with different colors/outlines. I then take it to photoshop and add the dot matrix, overlay and drop shadows. I have instructions on the exact process and settings way up in the post somewhere. I will see if i can find what post number it was.
Edit: instructions on how to make the font are in post 426 link to post 426
