New Comic Book Theme!
-
@pittstone doesn't exist, the image is made up of 2 files one from photoshop and one from indesign along with filtering from Inkscape and compression from riot.
-
@tmntturtlguy Oh, O.k. Can i ask you, to make a Wallpaper for me?
I have made a Folder for SNES MSU-1 Games and it works great. Only a nice Wallpaper is Missing. I have a Logo, too!
-
How do I get NINTENDO HACKS and SUPER NES HACKS to show up in the theme?
-
@giga you need to add them to your es_systems.cfg
-
@pittstone it looks like you already have everything you need??? The black border is a seperate image file that will automatically be added by the theme. The dither comic effect can be added to the images in photoshop by using the pixel filter or in Inkscape using the newsprint filter. I used Inkscape and duplicate the image layer and place the newsprint filter with all angles at 15 degrees. You can play around until you get the desired effects.

Not 100% sure if this is the best place to post this as it is my first post.
I noticed that the Supergrafx logo is missing once you enter the Supergrafx menu. I figured out that a file was named wrong and fixed it on my build. The "system 3.svg" file had no space in it. Adding the space fixed it for me.

Still waiting on @TMNTturtlguy 's official take on this, here was my first attempt at creating the Achievements collection system logo:
I loved it, and have been using it forever now. But then I realized.. "Crap! I spelled it wrong!" So I spent all day today trying to remember how I made it. It's not nearly as good. For some reason, my half-tone filter is adding black to the dots. Maybe some help can come my way? Maybe TMNT can make a real one for me? :) I did this all in Photoshop.

@hansolo77 You owe me!
-
^_^ I don't know how you did it. Looks WWWAAAAYYYY better than mine!!
-
@hansolo77 Your's isn't so bad at all! I use a combination of illustrator and photoshop. I set adjustments to the text, create 4 convert the text to outlines and create 4 layers of the text with different colors/outlines. I then take it to photoshop and add the dot matrix, overlay and drop shadows. I have instructions on the exact process and settings way up in the post somewhere. I will see if i can find what post number it was.
Edit: instructions on how to make the font are in post 426 link to post 426

Can you add more genre themes :platformers,wrestling,puzzle ,adventure etc? or since you've done specific themes for mario,sonic..could you do metroid,castlevania,contra ie games that are on every system,it's a beautiful theme the only theme I use

@kdretro Thanks for your kind words and I am glad you are enjoying the theme. Thanks to the custom systems addition by @pjft and the great work by @jdrassa on the default theme settings, you should be able to create those custom systems on your own. They will use the generic background and the system name will be in the shaka pow font, but in solid black.
I have decided that I am no longer going to create custom content and systems for this theme, at least for the time being. This is for several reasons, mostly due to the fact that there is an infinite amount of custom systems I could create and where would I ever draw a line in what to create and what not too? Also, at the time I released this theme, the theme had by far the most extensive and complete list of supported systems, including standard and custom systems. In the past few months there has been a lot of exciting progress in both ES and theme creation. There are now a ton of options and a ton of systems supported. I know there are a few other themes that have a full and extensive library, but i would suggest that the comic book theme is still has "One Of" the most supported list of systems available. Lastly, these systems take me several hours to create, and I have 4 different themes to update along with 2 sets of launching images. The 4:3 and 16:9 versions are not just adjusting alignments, I have to create a completely new background each. Like most other theme creators, I have created this theme on my own time, and I currently only use 24 systems of the over 100 systems the theme supports. I also created this theme and shared it with the forum prior to the donation phase which has started recently. I am glad that new creators are getting recognized and honestly, I did have 2 forum members reach out to me recently and requested that I provide them a way to give me money for my efforts. I greatly appreciate that. I created this theme for fun, for my own use, and then it grew and I found great joy in developing and sharing it with others. Now that there are so many awesome themes out there to choose from, I currently do not have any motivation, incentive, or interest in creating additional custom systems.
I apologize for the long post, and that this answer will not please you. Again, I appreciate your kind words and all the kind words by others. I hope that everyone will continue to find joy in this theme, the splash video and the launching images. I will continue to support the theme, update when issues arise and help troubleshoot issues. The rest of my time will be devoted to continuing to develop my setups and help implement new thoughts, tools, and maybe in the future a new theme.
Thank you

@tmntturtlguy
You've done more than enough and deserve a break. I think there has to come a point when you say enough is enough. Thanks for all your hard work on this. -
This post is deleted! -
@tmntturtlguy I realized you provided the necessary tools in the art folder,I made my own for wrestling,and puzzle but I can't match your font style for the system name,although graffiti fonts come pretty close
-
@kdretro looks great! If you look a few posts up, the response to @hansolo77 right above your first post there is a link to the post where I give instructions on how to create the font.

What a great Job on all of this it looks amazing. I have it already setup and am loving it. I just have one question if somebody could help me out. If I setup a collection(e.g. BATMAN) is there a way, that once I put a game into the collection it does not show up in its main folder(e.g. Nintendo folder).
-
@ajdshnps there isn't. What you're looking for is probably closer to actually just moving the ROM to a Batman folder, though, and following some of the scripts that @TMNTturtlguy @meleu and @cyperghost where working on at the time.

Thanks @pjft phi figured that I was just curious.
