@tmntturtlguy better? I have to downgrade the quality to post it on here. its larger normally. I need to upload the PSD file for it somewhere and post the link.
Here ya to. If anyone wants the Photoshop file, they can edit for themselves.

@TMNTturtlguy I really love your theme for my laptop version of ES, any chance you could add in Nintendo 3DS to the list?
-
@grizzlema Thanks for the kind words. As posted earlier in the thread, due to fairly recent changes in our family life and my time/availability, and the fact that there are an endless number of system themes that could be created I have made the decision to stop creating new systems/themes. Several months ago @pjft was able to implement some awesome updates that allow users to create their own custom systems and the theme is set up to work with that. I apologize. Good luck and enjoy.

Hi @TMNTturtlguy First of all, thank you for the brilliant theme! I am using it in a cocktail-style table I have made and it looks really good. I would like to make custom collections for "Cocktail Games" and "Vertical Games". I understand I can use some of the collections already in the theme and just replace the "comic.png" with a different logo, could you please tell me what font and size have you used for the other logos? Thanks.

How do you implement "favorites", "last played", etc.? I see it is added and one thread references a "built in" method and then some other script that I believe lets you hide certain systems. What is the easiest way to add those extra system themes? Is there a step by step?
-
@tmntturtlguy DUDE! As a latecomer to this, I just wanted to contribute my thanks. This theme is amazing! My favorite by a long shot.
It also drove me to make sure that I have all the games shown in the system pages. ;)

In Retropie, open the main menu (start) > Game Collection Settings > Automatic Game Collections > check "favorites" and "last played".
You might have to restart Emulationstation for the lists to appear. And I don't think Favorites will appear if you don't have any.

@alturis He has an awesome Comic Book splashscreen video as well. I have both the theme and vid on one of my pi's.

Hi guys, about sound folders? there is something?
-
I created a new custom game category for 2 player games (for when you want to play something together but not sure what yet)
I figured out how to set it up so that this appears like its own system with its own art and based the theme folder on the fighters collection folder.
But my graphic design skills are WEAK! ;(
Does anyone happen to have something better than these that match the ComicBook theme more appropriately?

I found a handy website that allows you to create logo text in all kinds of ways. Was able to get something that more closely approximates the ComicBook with it

@hankchad Thanks for the kind words and sorry for my long absence from the forums. Life has gotten in the way of fun for the moment. As for the logos, each is custom made. Somewhere in the thread i have instruction on how to make them, I don't know the post number off the top of my head. The basic font type is called shaka pow.
-
@alturis Thanks, appreciate the kind words!
-
@tmntturtlguy said in New Comic Book Theme!:
download shaka-pow text
open adobe illustrator
create a new 8" long by 3" tall artpage
text:
-Size 150
-Click on character
-Height 92
-Width 91
-Va-22
-Select path – convert to path, set outline weight to– 2 (arrange letters for front to back)
-Make copies of base letters – make 4 layers
-Second copy, turn letters white, black outline, select stroke, align to outside, 7.8
-Third Copy, white outline, select stroke, align outside, 11.5
-Forth copy, change color and move straight down 4 clicks
-Save file as Illustrator file
Open photoshopopen illustrator file
create a dot matrix overlay of custom color of your liking
Overlay the dot matrix, inverse select the letters and delete overlay so dots are only on letters
Create a gradient overlay layer of your select color, inverse select the letters and create an overlay from bottom to top.
Make sure your image size is set to 72 dpi
flatten layers
add 2 drop shadows at opposite angles so that the entire logo has a consistent drop shadow
-flatten layers.
-save as a superpng, disable meta data, enable transparencies.Done - those are the steps, i can't describe the artistic touches and slight modifications made as they differ from color to color, name to name, but that is the exact process used for every logo.
Found the instructions. Will be trying this tonight. Thanks @TMNTturtlguy

Any tips or sources on this step? Sounds like its more involved than just that. ;)
