My All Time Favorite Game is... and Why?

I really cannot answer this question there are so many great retro games, I still find new good MAME games which I really enjoy.

Oops, im really stupid, i flagged a post for accidentally being on the wrong thread, while i was on the wrong thread... If the moderators could ignore me being stupid that'd be greaaaat... WOW, good morning.

@Capeman you have to be really careful with that. My previous username got permanently banned from one flag for the exact same thing you flagged it for and i had to set up a different email and username. So any person you flag has the potential of being permanently banned. It is another company that controls that stuff.

Many favorites: Lords of Midnight on the spectrum, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Monkey Island, Civilization, Wing Commander and X-Wing on the PC and FF VII on the PlayStation. Warlords on the Amiga and Mario Kart on the Gamecube for the epic multiplayer night sessions. But looking back now and watching how all these games aged, my ultimate favorite has to be Zelda - A Link to the Past.

YES! WE GOT ANOTHER LINK TO THE PAST FAN!

@rig I think nestopia fixes some aspect ratio bugs as well. The S of Score was cropped for me in castlevania, nestopia corrected this!
-
@gorgar you can fix the overscan crop in retroarch to keep it from cropping in fceumm

Yeah nestopia looks and sounds great, at least it did on Battletoads. That's the only game I tried it with. The problem I had with it was the input lag. If I was going to play an rpg I would use it ...Speaking of rgps I'm playing Shining Force cd right now on the pi. Shining Force was one of my favorite games as a kid. Totally stoked I can play it without having to buy a Sega cd. The game is good. It's like a poor mans Shining Force, but still good. It has that fantasy anime art style, just like the Genesis games

@rig i loved the shining force series. I beat all 3 parts of part iii. Luckily i knew the controls from beating the first part since the last 2 parts were only in japanese. One of the best rpg series.

Lost Vikings... as a child, I played the DOS version. I spent hours and hours playing through it. Never managed to finish it, though.
There is also a sequel named Lost Vikings 2 with ugly graphics. I was amazed when I found out that there is SNES version of this game with the same graphics style the first game had.

I have never played shining force 3, I don't particularly care for 3d rpg graphics. Have you played shining force 2?" There is a "hard type hack" for it that is really good. I recommend it. It makes the game much much harder and the characters more balanced. The last boss is almost unbeatable.
-
@rig yeah i beat the first 3 shining force games. I havent played the shining in the darkness and the other ton of games in the series though.

@edmaul69 Shining force CD was good on sega cd, it was a compilation of the first 2 game gear shining forces (shining force gaiden, and shining force 2 the sword of hadjya) both really good games. And i think there was a third scenario on the CD version that completes the story, but i havent gotten that far into it yet.
