my first mini arcade
I figure I will start with this before I go bigger. :) -
Looks cool, are you going to paint it?
-
yes, just waiting for parts so I can prefit and finish up. Was thinking of just going with black.
-
Sounds cool, so what games do you plan to run?
-
@Cole_48 most likely snes nes sega and mame , really liking the metal slug games
-
Nice!!
Did you make it from scratch??
-
@PingSpike no, bought a precut kit from ebay for 40$ he wanted 50, but i offered 40 and he accepted. I think hes out of stock now though, would of bought the black one but he only had white left
-
what buttons are a must have? coin and player start? anything else?
-
If you're using an IPAC you can shift-enable buttons. Take a look at my build (in signature) I've got a 1P button but to insert a coin I simply press 1P and 'Fire' together :)
-
Since this was my first project I didnt want to spend alot of money on this, also because I might be building a 2 player bartop machine with the experience from this project. But anyways i bought this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261560982686?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITI only plan on using the 8 buttons for now, the other two buttons are smaller in diameter, if I need to use those, I'll just drill out 2 holes for them.
Is the board simliar to IPAC? Does the same thing, yes? -
Yup, certainly looks to operate in the same way as the IPAC mate :)
-
quick update, got some more painting to do and waiting on screen.

Looks great, what screen do you plan to use
-
@Cole_48 the 7" elcheapo one on ebay lol
-
Got a little bit more work done on it, not quite done yet.
-
Ahh Metal Slug. What a classic.
Just curious but are you using a 4-way or 8-way joystick? -
@Brigane i have it on 8 way, but it can go 4 way.
