Upgrading the RetroCade with a Spinner - DX-Ball, SDL-Ball
-
Hello there
I am soon to upgrade my RetroCade with a SpinTrak spinner and wonder if there is any way to run DX-Ball or SDL-Ball from EmulationStation because... I have tried but only get errors even after installing all the dependencies. So my question is: Can SDL-Ball and a Luxor alike game run inside EmulationStation?
installing the dependencies.
I use Floob`s RPi2/3 image v3.7SDL-Ball for linux homepage

My favourite windows games are DX-Ball and Luxor and both need spinner to work so maybe we should start a thread for collection good spinner/dial games?

@hamak I think a thread about spinner controls is a good idea. I am not familiar with the games you mentioned, but I can add some ideas and discussion points:
- Arcade games with spinners and trackballs work best in AdvanceMAME in my opinion, simply because you have complete control over the devices using the config file and sensitivity/speed adjustments can be made using the MAME GUI (and they get saved). I haven't had much luck in other versions of MAME.
- Atari 2600--Up until now, I hadn't given it much consideration, but I am curious if I can get spinners working for the Atari 2600. I am fairly certain I could make this work using AdvanceMAME (mess) but I'd like to get lr-Stella using spinners if possible.
