Dualshock 3 connected to both PS3 and Retropie, possible?
-
Hi!
I'm trying to get to work a somewhat unusual setup.
I have a modded PS3 slim in a custom enclosure with Raspberry Pi 3 running RetroPie. They are sharing the same screen and speakers through a HDMI switch which is controlled by an Arduino. I want to be able to use the same Dualshock controllers on both consoles.
I am a rookie when it comes to Linux stuff, but I figured that maybe I could manually pair a controller to the RPi3 by setting up the address using a command or modifying some bluetooth/sixaxis config file. Switching between two consoles is operated by a single toggle switch and when it's in Retropie position Arduino would then cut off the PS3 power via a relay so they would not interfere.
I got the controller MAC address (already paired to PS3), using something called SixaxisPairTool but I don't know how to 'put it' into my Retropie setup. All the resources that I found regarding Sixaxis drivers on retropie are turorials on how to pair it via USB, but that's not what I am looking for, because then I loose connection to my PS3.
Is what I'm after even theoretically possible? Maybe some of you guys can help me.
Thanks!

The PS3 controller can only be synced to one device at a time. It remembers the Mac address of the device it's synced to. Nice thing is once synced to a pi, all you have to do is plug it in via USB on the pi, press the ps button and then unplug. To go back to PS3, plug the USB into the PS3, press the ps button then unplug.
