      Im wondering how to get the best performance out of Zdoom?
      Because brutal doom seems to be a bit laggy even on low resolution.
      Im wondering what you guys did to Zdoom to get it to run pretty well?
      Or did you guys leave it alone(default)
      Also what resolution are you playing doom at?
      I wanted to disable some effects but since rpi doesnt have OpenGL these settings are not accessable which sux i rly want to tweak this do it runs good.

      Sorry about all these posts about doom but i rly want to get it to run as flawless as possible and im new to this
      Edit;also i heard i need to Install SDL2 libraries because it helps Zdoom run better? Not sure what this is and if its true or not?

              On the zero it runs decent with lower resolutions and the correct sound settings. For whatever reason midi music in ZDoom seems to really tax the pi's. I've messed with Timidity and lowered most of the settings in the timidity config and in zdoom sound settings.

              Also, you can host/join local ZDoom multiplayer games on the zero and pi3 pretty well (seems to work better than chocolate doom, within this narrow context).
              Scripts are easy:
              hosting

              #!/bin/bash
              /opt/retropie/ports/zdoom/zdoom +set fullscreen 1 -host 2 -warp 01 -skill 2 -iwad /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2.wad

              or to join

              #!/bin/bash
              /opt/retropie/ports/zdoom/zdoom +set fullscreen 1 -iwad /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2.wad -join 192.168.X.X

              loading mods is just -file /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/mod.pk3 after the -iwad line. Has to be EXACTLY the same files loaded on the host and client, or it gets screwy.

              Lastly, I just found out that sound fonts are also applied to ZDoom's midi playback. Probably not news to anyone, but I was blown away!

                  I'm suddenly interested. Is this classic doom that is now ported to today's world? :O

                  I will obviously Google this, but also asking.... For a friend.... ;)

                    @korbru yes all the doom engine games are ported to modern computer options. You can get higher resolution, a lot more control options and more.

                        @jcook84 thing is i got a pi3 running stock with Samsung evo plus SD and 3amp psu and im getting low frame rates in certain wads especially Valiant while ED had the same pi3 same settings also stock and no lag and we cant figure out the issue whats cousing it...

                        I already tried buying a good SD card and a good amp no luck..
