I just upgraded to Retropie 3.8.1, and I'm trying to change my default emulator for the Megadrive to lr-genesis-plus-gx (I've always used and preferred this emulator). However the only option I get when changing my default emulator is lr-picodrive. It looks like lr-genesis-plus-gx is included with the main packages and not an optional install. I tried reinstalling it, and still it will not show up on my default emulators for the Megadrive.

On a side note, I can change the default emulator for other systems (lr-nestopia for NES for example). I am running on RPi3, clean 3.8.1 install, no other changes.

      Any help is appreciated.

You're absolutely right! I just checked my emulators.cfg and it is not listed in there and yet it is in the /libretrocores directory.

Hi @Machtroid - Please check your other systems to ensure that everything is listed properly and is launching properly. Please test out things like virtualboy, vectrex, lynx, neo geo pocket, wonderswan, etc if you can. just to make sure its not happening for anything else

EDIT: I just went through all of mine and could not find any other issues so far. might have missed something though.

Hi @ProxyCell the only other systems I have games for and can test are NES, SNES, GBA, and arcade. But I can confirm that these systems have multiple emulators to choose from when I install them from the optional packages. The only one that doesn't show up is lr-genesis-plus-gx for Megadrive. Would it be possible to add a line to emulators.cfg in the Megadrive folder to force it to use this?

It's fixed. I de-duplicated some code the other day and forgot one change. update retropie-setup and re-install it and all should be good.

Just as I was about to post a line for you to insert, it has been fixed:
