      Hi,

      I am not exactly sure how to explain this, but I will do my best. :)

      When I select a game from the menu (FBA or Mame, as these are the only two systems I'm using) before the game starts to load I get an Ugly popup MS-Dos like box saying that the game is loading and to press a key to configure.

      Is it possible to hide this box? It completely breaks the experience between the menu and the games and reminds me it's not a real arcade and that I am only running an emulator in Linux.

      Coming from Recalbox, this behaviour seems unnatural and I would like to know if it is possible to make the transition between the menu and the games transparent.

      Thank you.

      Regards,

        That's the RunCommand screen. You can disable it through configuration - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/ - or add your own splashscreens.

          I use one of these for each system launching or a custom screen.

            Yep, that did it.

            RetroPie does seem highly customizable, I just have to take the time to learn how to do it properly.

            Thank you for your support.

            Cheers,

              @nightshadowpt I think that's really the difference between RetroPie and Recalbox, well one of many but a big one. RetroPie has the option for a lot of customisation. It's the tinkerer's choice.

                @jonnykesh

                I use these as well - although, not to disable the configuration. I also edited them and removed the "Press A Button..." on the bottom part. Seems pointless to have that if part of the reason for that screen is to disable that ability (until between it closing the game booting), and also seems anyone who would need to do that, already knows what to press.

                That was my little edit to those screens.
