        @jonnykesh
        The error now changed the end of "179,2" to "179,6". Nothing but.

          @mr315 Try using a program called etcher to write to the card. Link https://etcher.io/
          It takes a bit longer but it checks the image.

            Hello,
            I have a theory, I'm not quite sure, but I heard somewhere that a Raspberry Pi 3 can only use up to 32 GB on an SD/MicroSD card, if it's higher than that you have to do something different. I know I'm being very vauge(?) here, but I don't remember all the details. I suggest you look up something like "raspberry pi 3 64gb sd card." Hope this helps, but if not... Remember, it's just a theory, A GAME THEORY!! (Sorry, I had to.)

              @steviejoe360 this is not true, I have run several 128gb sd cards.

                  @jonnykesh Thaks!
                  I tested with "H2testw" and found that the 64GB SDXC is fake. But the 8GB is not and it happened the same. I'll buy one like a friend's. If the error persists, can it be the image or the raspberry?

                    @mr315 Where did you purchase the card from? Unfortunately there are a lot of fakes about. They all tend to be 4/8GB spoofing they are 64/128.

                      @jonnykesh Bought on the internet.
                      I bought another one now, and it worked fine. SanDisk Ultra 64gb. Thanks for all.

                        @mr315 I use Amazon or an actual physical shop when buying larger SD cards. At least then you have some comeback and a 1 year warranty.

                          I have a similar problem.
                          Raspberry Pi 2 b
                          San Disk Ultra 32GB
                          RetroPie 4.4.4
                          Using Balena Etcher on mac (flashed through retropie4.4.4.img...)
                          A couple of usb drives (not used all at the same time) , a keyboard, wireless usb controllers, wifi dongle.
                          Generic xbox controllers (xpad driver)
                          Error messages received: kernel panic-not syncing: vfs: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2)
                          Emulator: ES/Retropie
                          Turning the retropie on.

                          The only thing that makes this different is that I have a pretty good idea on how this happened. I was using a usb- micro sdhc adapter drive to transfer (4876) games at once. Also, I overclocked my retropie around lunch. These two factors MOST LIKELY caused this to happen and I want to keep my games... since I have over 10,000, So re writing it or formatting it isn't an option. Also, my usb keyboard wont work because of the error. All of my usb ports are useless. I wouldnt only like my games though. I did a ton of programming on it and have TONS of stuff like background music, custom loading screens, game launch screens, etc., I also wonder if there is a file on the sd card that has all of that on it, so I can just use a new image and take that. Thanks in advance!
