Hi I am running retropie 3.8.1 updated my Bluetooth sxriptz. I also updated the os info I. Retropie set up. I registered my connections ran the ps3 drivers and can't get the ps3 controls to connect on Bluetooth. I can get wired ps3 working out not Bluetooth. Will this be addressed soon? Will 3.8.2 or 3.9 fix this? I could have sworn I read on these forums somewhere a link went to a developer saying Bluetooth is a problem. And is broken now and will be fixed. I hope the ps3 controllers can be fixed or a video can be made with the new version showing how to do it if you can.

I appreciate any help. I spent many days and hours on this.

did you update your setup script? update if if you haven't then install the PS3 sixaxis driver from "setup/tools" menu. then register it from the menu while your dualshock is plugged into rpi using bluetooth cable. remove the cable and press the ps button.
also check if your bluetooth service is active by running "service bluetooth status" on the console. you can also check you bluetooth module by running "lsusb" on the console.

Well I know I installed the ps3 driver and it looks to be gone in this menu https://goo.gl/photos/tQc7KCj11w3qABdd8

ok here is a update. I went ahead and hooked up my own bluetooth dongle and it worked off that off a fresh install. I did the bluetoothcl command check in command line and it says the blue tooth is running. It seems like the onboard bluetooth does not like my stuff but the usb dongle I got works.

I dunno what to say? any ideas to get my onboard PI 3 bluetooth to work desprite it saying its online and works in commandline?

try apt-get update & apt-get upgrade. maybe they've added support or fixed the issue if it is a known one.

@crazyleo I just want you to know I got it working on Bluetooth and it works also on board Bluetooth. The jumps in the games are sluggish like try mega man 2 frog man try to make the red platform jumps it's impossible to complete due to sluggish jumps. When hooked up with wire it works navigating in emulation station but the wired ps3 won't work in the games. That's my newest problem.

That might be your Bluetooth dongle. I'm running 3.8.1 on a Rpi model B with a targus bluetooth dongle and have not experienced any lags so far (*knocks on wood).
for the wired one to work in games you'll have to include that in the emulator config or via retroarch_input.

I was actually messing with that and found the input under inputs. I could not figure out how to activate it. I was using my Rii keyboard to navigate around. There needs to be a good video made explaining retroarch inputs and all the options.

wait till you try to play any mame roms. I had a really hard time with it. ended up plugging in an external keyboard and pressing 'TAB' key to configure input via keyboard. I still needed the controller key codes that I got from the controller cfg files.
