Here is my latest RetroPie project: LEGO Pi. A giant 1x1 that is made with red bricks and flat tiles.

Basically, this idea came around when I had no idea for any projects I wanted to do. I had a Pi-Blox case lying around so I thought "Hey, what if I built a special LEGO console off a 1x1 brick?"

So I did. And these are the results of my thoughts:

And along with that, I created a classic splash screen based off the old LEGO Software logo by replacing "SoftWare" with "Pi" and adding the nostalgic LEGO head wink.

I hope you like this as I took some time thinking about it and I think it's brilliant and fantastic.

I know this is completely unrelated, but the video splash cuts out to No Signal sometimes and doesn't play the entire video. It plays a few seconds of the video, then it cuts to No Signal and when the signal DOES come back, it goes to the EmulationStation menu. Is there a way to stop this?

I did have the Pi in the living room TV and it had none of these issues. It even does it with that PiStation bootup I have. If it sees black, it cuts.

@allanbuzzy the comicbook theme splash video and a few others i have tried do this. For the hd playstation boot video to stop doing it for me, i had to rip it from youtube in 720p instead of 1080p

@edmaul69 I've seen people do that code you put in autostart.sh but I do not want to risk my ES not booting up. I also do not want to enable overscan because it'll make the screen go over. It's not had an issue on my old Phillips TV, but it's one of those old Grundig TVs.

This issue is not from the Pi it's self. It could be the HDMI cable (using a Sky HDMI cable) that I'm using, but I doubt that because the HDMI works fine when I'm playing games and stuff.

@allanbuzzy making the splashscreen video itself a smaller resolution fixes it. Not changing the resolution on the pi. If you convert your video to a smaller not 1080p video it fixes the issue.

                @edmaul69 It's not 1080p, I use convert2mp3 and it only goes up to 720p.

Is there still a way to get the bug fixed?

I tried connecting it to the living room TV and no signal.

@allanbuzzy yeah i dont know how to fix the bug butt lowering the resolution of your actual video makes it work.

@allanbuzzy yeah. I think might have 720 worked for me but i could be wrong.

@edmaul69 I did lower the resolution to about 360p, it's lost it's HD goodness but the issue is that the only time it cut was when the LEGO logo formed. I guess it's slowly fixing itself, I don't know

I do want to make a theme for my project, as I feel as if it deserves it. I like the Metro theme that @Omnija made, but I do not want to copy him or his work.

The one problem I have is that I am on a Mac, and I don't think there are any programs that help me create a theme.

                                Cool Lego Project!

About your splashscreen video problem. Try this:

                                Go to /etc/init.d/asplashscreen

Within that file, scroll down to where it says omxplayer -o both -b --layer 10000 "$line". Change that to omxplayer -o both --layer 10000 "$line". (You're removing the -b from the code)

                                That worked for my problem.

@wombat Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try this and see if it'll work for my TV.

EDIT: IT WORKS! Thank you Wombat, that has made my day! Not one single cutoff!

Does anyone have a music script I could use? I found some good music I could use for my project.

This is pretty funny and weird at the same time, but basically on the RetroPie-Extra splash screens, something that I noticed was that someone already created a LEGO Pi splashscreen.

This is completely unrelated, but I noticed it very easily.
