Retropie EmulationStation Home Screen (Populate with Games)

Hey there, new user and didn't see any info on it so hope you guys can help or point me in the right direction.
I only have a handful of games I'm putting onto my RetroPie from various systems, and instead of having to go into each system menu, I'd like to just be able to have them on my home screen.
I see if I mark games as my Favorites, it makes another section I can go into, but is there a config file I can grab and edit manually to have the games on the home screen and I can just scroll to and start going into them?
I'd eventually like to hide all the systems menu and just have the games that I can just choose from. I saw a file in etc/emulationstation/ with a cfg file with all of the systems. Can I edit this to add the game?
