Enable analog sticks for PS1-games?

Hey guys!

I have a problem.
I can't activate the analog stick for PS1-games on RetroPie (with latest script, 4.0 BETA-2, I believe).

I have never had any problems before, and I can't get the method I usually use to work anymore.

All I used to do was to edit lines in"/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-core-options.cfg",
from "pcsx_rearmed_pad1type = "standard"", to "pcsx_rearmed_pad1type = "analog"".

Doing this now will make any PS1-games unable to even launch.
If I change back to "standard", all games work again.

What can I do?

I'm using a PS3-controller via bluetooth on a RPi3.
