    I read somewhere (here maybe) that getting a joypad to work with the MSX emulator is near impossible. I got a ROM to load no problems, but of course when asked to press "1 or 2" for the amount players, keyboard or anything on the joypad other than SELECT + START works.

    Anyone can help? Thanks :)

      @kennypie your buttons work fine. To make the keyboard work you need to open up /opt/retropie/configs/msx/retroarch.cfg and add this line:

       input_libretro_device_p2 = "3"

        Thank YOU! You were right, the controller buttons do work. I just needed to insert the line that you mentioned, and then pressed "1" for one player from the now enabled keyboard, and buttons on joypad works. I just needed to get pass that screen and without a keyboard to, I thought my joypad wasn't working.

          Hello,
          If I wanna use START and SELECT buttons like the NES version of Metal Gear, Where is the file to match keyboard and joypad manually? It doesn't work in retroarch. The file always refers to a libretro file. In retroarch, we only have the up, down, left right and fire buttons for the joypad and I don't know how to manually associate certain keyboard functions.

          The joypad versatility seems to be a big challenge with this emulator. Maybe easy to set!

          Thank you for help

          Regards

            @DTEAM Please open a separate topic and add your question, don't bump 3 years old topics - it's bad forum etiquette.
