What games are you playing this week? 2017-10-09

Let's use this thread to talk about the games we're playing and other things gaming-related that may not merit their own post.

After getting owned by Super Mario Land on Saturday I decided to go back to the beginning and play some Super Mario Bros.. I ended up playing through without warp zones and I think I'm going to do that for a few more. I wasn't able to beat ** Super Mario Bros. 2** without save states, but that game is insane. Anyway, today I am going to try to get the "good" ending to Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic which requires you to play through the whole game as all four characters.
-
I have a save state right before the end boss of Rocket Knight Adventures for sega genesis, was going to beat it but the wife wanted to watch TV... you want a hard game, that one is a pretty rough!
-
Doing another run through of Cave Story, and (as always) Doom. I'm thinking about picking up a few thrift store CRT TV's ($5/ea) and recreating an old school LAN party in the basement playing Doom/Quake/Q3 using pi2 and 3's (even pi0 if I can get a usb>ethernet that actually works)
-
I'm mainly playing some modern games this week. I'm right in the middle of 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' which has been great so far. And I also just bought 'Resident Evil 7' which I'm really looking forward to playing (only £15 in Tesco for anyone else in the UK who wants it).
-
Played through The Cliffhanger: Edward Randy again last night. Trying to get through on as few quarters a possible... if it were real money, i'd be poor.
-
I didn’t buy one, but can confirm they actually exist
-
I've beat it on emulators, I've beat the remake. But now I can say I've beat on the original System.
I finally beat it, no save states, one run. -
I met James Rolfe today, and he’s a really nice guy.
I got him to sign my NES and copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
I also bought two Genesis 6-button controllers and his copy of Rocket Knight Adventures CIB! From
the f@$kin nerd himself!

I played Batman: The Video Game (Gameboy) a bit this afternoon, just to passtime and earn some cheevos. It's a platformer, but in 2 stages it's a shooter. A short and fun game.
