      So I am setting up PS1 EMU on my Retropie with RPi 3. Are memory cards emulated? I read somewhere that one memory card is emulated?

      So for example, can I save multiple states for Crash Bandicoot? Can games auto-save using this "memory card"?

      I googled and read many forums but cannot find the basics of how this works / if it works.

      Thanks in advance!

        @shay90 yes.

        Memory cards are emulated and work as they would on the regular system. I don't think they'd support any sort of auto saving unless the game supported it out of the box. That being said, if you save something there and then leave and come back later, it'll be there as you'd expect.

        I'm not sure if the emulator supports more than one card, or card switching, never looked into that.

        Hope this answers the question.
