@tanstaafl the video file names will need to match the title of each game exactly with the suffix -video and placed in the downloaded images folder for the required system.
E.g. "Super Mario Bros. (USA)" will need to be called "Super Mario Bros. (USA)-video.mp4".
When you scrape with sseplh scraper, it'll look in the downloaded images folder before downloading anything as long as the game is recognised. I get best results with screenscraper.
If your videos and roms have slightly different names then you're going to have to rename one or the other. If you just need to add the suffix on the end, I recommend a program I think is called bulk renaming tool. Give it a google.

@gaavoid Thanks for your reply. I was aware of the naming convention, guess I should have mentioned that. All the files are named correctly, I actually wrote a file renaming program just for these kinds of situations.

I found a solution, but wasn't sure how to post answering my own question. I wrote a script that would parse the ROM directory and append a video tag to each of the games in the existing gamelist.xml with the location and name of the video file. I got the idea from a powershell script someone else posted here.

        Cheers!!

@livefastcyyoung I'd also advise anyone against downloading this link.

@necrym mega.nz links don't exactly scream legitimacy. Especially if it's just a distributed binary with no source or origin. Have you tried GitHub?

Spamming all the threads with a scraper tag is not the way to share software. Host your source in a reputable place where people can see the code isn't malware and start your own topic detailing what your software does.

@herb_fargus Absolutely, can these links be removed? Just in case someone downloads from them.

@jonnykesh already on it. I'm removing all of them until he complies with forum rules / proper coding practises.

So i suppose all the roms people download from mega or such sites are malware too.
-talk about hypocrits, i just created a program for myself and offered to share it
look at it before judging people, i havent used git hub for projects - just wanted to see if people were interested in me developing it further in other languages etc. But i wont lose sleep over small minded people. I have since removed it so you can sleep at night again - the boogeyman has gone away. Your loss not mine couldnt be bothered now because of the attitudes.

                              @necrym hi.

First of all, take no offense here. If you indeed developed something and wanted to share, thank you for the effort and contributing!

Don't take offense if someone doesn't want to download a pre-compiled binary without source code from such a source. It may be with your best intention but in this day and age better safe than sorry, really.

As @herb_fargus and others said, there are other ways to share software that people are more comfortable with. Just that.

As for the ROMs and such, while the idea and argument sound reasonable at first, truth is they run inside an emulator, which in turn are for the most part open source. As such, unless there's a clear backdoor in each of those, ready to be exploited, for the most part running those ROMs will not result in any harm. Worst case scenario the emulator will crash.

Now if you'd be taking about running a pre-compiled emulator from one such website, the same concerns would apply.

                              Hope that helps.
