installing raspbian over retropie

I have a raspberry pi 3b running retropie and was wondering if I could install raspbian over retropie but still have retropie (dual boot?). Anyways I am very new to retropie and just wanted to ask.

@toomanylegos if you have RetroPie you already have Raspbian. Is it the desktop you want to install? If so, read this https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#where-did-the-desktop-go
