Where did you copy the files and what extension do the files have ? Have you checked https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MSX/ ?
-
Hi, i tried to copy the bios (msx.rom, msx2.rom, msx2ext.rom) files in both:
G:\retropie-mount\BIOS\Machines\Shared Roms
G:\retropie-mount\BIOS
and it didn't work. The roms are located in :
G:\retropie-mount\roms\msx
They are 2 .msx2 files and one .rom. -
@tomume Can you post the EmulationStation logs after you restart it from the menu ? We can at least see what files it detects in the msx folder. The log should be the
/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_log.txt
.Do you have any other emulators configured ? If you copy - for instance - a NES ROM into the
G:\retropie-mount\roms\nes
folder, does it show in EmulationStation ? -
yes everything works except msx. Bios files are taken into account by the psx emulator as I don't have the Bios file is missing text warning.
How do I access those files in win7/10 `?
-
@tomume Use WinSCP to log in to the RPi to access the folder (
/home/pi/.emulationstation
) and view/transfer the file. -
@tomume I forgot to mention the 1st thing to check - did you install the emulator(s) for the MSX system from the RetroPie setup ?
-
I've never installed any emulator specifically in retropie... How do I do that ?
-
@tomume https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/#installing-additional-emulators - choose to install the emulators for MSX - lr-bluemsx. Then restart ES and see if your ROMs (and the MSX folder) appear.
Check the file extension and make sure you use lowecase for the ROMs.
