How to delete Hi-Res Texture Packs on RetroPie for N64
-
Hello all!
First and foremost I apologize if I missed something in the Forum rules section.
Long story short I've slowly gotten my RetroPie up and running well for N64 games.
I installed some hi res texture packs. One of the hi-res packs was terrible. I've since removed the original files from the following location.
/home/pi/.local/share/mupen64plus/hires_texture
However, each time I load the rom the Hi Res pack continues to be used.
The only way I've been able to disable it is by changing the following settings.
Save texture cache to hard disk.
txSaveCache = False
If I keep it at False the Rom no longer loads the texture pack.
I guess my question is how can I remove whatever cache'd info is saved on the Hard disk which isn't located in /home/pi/.local/share/mupen64plus/hires_texture as I'd like to change this setting back to True.
Here is my current setup
Pi Model or other hardware: P3
Power Supply used: 2.5
RetroPie Version Used: 4.2

@bulletproof you need to either post your config on a site like pastebin.com or for smaller configs you need to use code block. Put 3 backticks on the line above and below your settings. The backtick is the backwards apostrophe under the esc key. I am on my phone so i cant type a backtick to show you. It is impossible trying to read your config like this.

I came across this same problem today. I know this post is getting old, but hopefully this answer is useful to others who have the same problem.
To clear the cached HiRes Textures, navigate to: /home/pi/.cache/mupen64plus/cache/
delete the file: <ROM_Name>_HIRESTEXTURES.htc
Where <ROM_Name> is the name of the ROM you want to clear the cached textures.Say for example you wanted to clear the high resolution textures for Super Mario 64,
rm /home/pi/.cache/mupen64plus/cache/"SUPER MARIO 64_HIRESTEXTURES.htc"-LedHed
