Requests for splash screens

yes, what is the best software
-
@retroprogrammer If you know where to get it, Photoshop.
If not, use GIMP
-
I agree with @lilbud about GIMP; that should be the best place to start. And, if you really feel like it, you can upgrade to Photoshop later. But personally, I use GIMP.
-
I'm torn between GIMP and Krita and not sure which one should I take. Krita is more appealing to me because it has various drawing tools but GIMP has better filters and effects (which are all free). It would be great to hear your advice why you guys prefer GIMP, thanks in advance! Photoshop is too complex for me and I just use some simple tools.
Oh by the way @retroprogrammer , I read about other free photo editing software which is much easier for you to use and they include making gifs. Hope this helps. -
thanks @RichardBr for the reply, I have Photoshop and yes it is very complex
-
maybe we could start posting some splashscreens here
-
@retroprogrammer Yes it's a good idea, members of this forum are very helpful and they will give you constructive feedback about your splashscreens.
-
this can be a place were people can upload splashscreens!
-
@retroprogrammer I'll start it off
-
Beautiful!
-
@rookervik I know a video splash never had done before, a Comodore 64 loading screen witha SID chip like chiptune wich I think it may even fit with the pixel theme
