      Hello,

I am running Retropie 4.3 on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and after having installed some ROMs via the browser based RetroPie Manager I am having this message on boot:
[XXXXX.XXXXXXX] systemd-fsck[107]: Inode XXXXXXX seems to contain garbage. Cler? yes
[XXXXX.XXXXXXX] systemd-fsck[107]: Inode XXXXXXX seems to contain garbage. Cler? yes

[XXXXX.XXXXXXX] systemd-fsck[107]: Inode XXXXXXX seems to contain garbage. Cler? yes
      …

While the X are numbers that increase sequentially, and the messages keep appearing forever.

Any help or idea what is the problem I am having?
      Thanks for your help.

@mrk Filesystem corruption, could be related to SD card damage/errors.

@mrk You should determine if your SD card is damaged or not, otherwise it won't matter if you reinstall or not.
Force a fsck (filesystem check) upon reboot by running from the command prompt

            sudo touch /forcefsck
            sudo reboot

If you still get unrecoverable errors, then you might try backing up you ROMs and trying a different card.

I have found a solution. simply install 4.0 rather than 4.3 and update the setup software on the pi after first boot
