Hey all. Newb here and working on getting a Pi3 up with my X- Arcade Tankstick. I followed all the build instructions and have the xarcade2jstrick seevice installed and running. However, when Emulation Station starts it's coming up with the button assignment screen. It see's the Tankstick as 2 gamepads which I think is right, but I thought the whole point of the service was that the buttons were already defined.

Does someone out there have Retropie up and running with a Tankstick with the trackball? If so can you post your config files for it? If I took those and moved them over to my build would it bypass the need for the button assignments? If so that would be awesome and I would gladly Paypal some funds for a pint or coffee for you help.

That or does anone have a list or map for the corresponding Emusstation to Tankstick requests? My focus for this is MAME and maybe some Genesis, NES, Gameboy family emulators. I'm not going to running the newer ones.

Thank you all for your help, time and consideration.

      Cheers.

The service makes it act as 2 joysticks instead of a keyboard - you still need to configure each side of the tankstick and then it will configure the emulators accordingly.

You can also use it without the xarcade2jstick service and instead just use it as a keyboard, and map the keys accordingly in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg - like https://github.com/scottnath/retropie-with-dual-x-arcades (although in their case, they remapped the buttons - but you wouldn't need to do that)

I got mine working after watching these videos. It's really simple actually. Just follow step by step and you will not have problems.

Still struggling getting the tank stick to work, follwed every instruction possible. When programmed and used in MAME all two player at once games Bubble Bobble and Son Son and Ton Ton for example don't work, when you add a credit 1 player won't start, add another credit and the second player starts, but the one player stick and buttons control the two player character, got me stumped.

@guruchoc This is an old thread, and everyone has a slightly different configuration. You need to provide all of the details from here. For example, how did you load RetroPie? What hardware are you running? Which MAME? etc. etc.
