Hi guys, I'm using a Pi 3 B with Retropie v3.7. I'm trying to connect my PS2 controllers using a PS2 to USB adapter, but EmulationStation doesn't recognize it. I get the "2 gamepads detected hold a button on your device to configure it" (ps2 adapter has 2 ports) but nothing happens when I press anything on the PS2 controllers. So far this has worked for every other controller and adapter that I have thrown at it including Xbox One, XBox 360, and even Gamecube controllers, but it just won't work for the PS2 controllers. I tested the PS2 adapter and it worked on my PC, so I can confirm that it is not broken. Any help would be great.

      Adapter looks like this:alt text

I use this very same adapter with no issues! The only thing I have to mention is that I have to "turn on" the analog to get the d-pad working properly. It works perfectly for me and is my primary joystick for playing.

I have the same problem but I'm using a different adapter to connect only one PS2 controller. Have you found the solution?

This is my first gamepad but when I connect another one it detects it as Gamepad 3.

The problem is that the adapter is for two PS2 controllers. This is why retropie detects two.

@vansfannel Make sure your adapter is plugged into the top left USB port. USB ports determine player number unless changed with retroarch.
