Running ROMS from USB
-
Hi,
In the documentation I see 2 examples of running ROMS from USB.
The first is: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation#transferring-roms
The second one is: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-driveUsing the first I was able to run ROMS from USB and the USB is mounted after reboot. So way do I need the second one? Is this old?
-
@blup The first method copies the roms from the usb stick to the card. The second method keeps them on the stick to save space and whatnot.
-
I only followed the first. Does this mean that ROMS are copied to the SD card and my ROMS are loaded from the SD?
-
Yes, just try it. Shutdown your Pi and remove your stick. Then restart, you should be able to play your roms.
-
Indeed I can load the ROMS without the USB connected.
I want them to stay om my USB or Network so I will try the second link also.
Thx for the information.
