      Hey Guys,

      Raspberry Pi Zero
      32 GB Micro SD
Micro USB to 3 USB outlets and 1 power outlet.
      0_1515422953325_2aedddfc-d978-4fe1-947b-9f9e4f622130-image.png

It was running great for about an hour or so. I got the roms all loaded on and both game pads configed. Then after about 30 min or so, the game pads started not being detected. If i messed with it for a bit, they would work for a minute, then stop. Now, I can't get them to work at all and I've noticed when i boot it up, i see the colored square for a sec or 2. Does this sound like a power issue?

      Please help.

It's a power issue I had the same issue then what I done was I got the official power supply because my power adapter (a phone charger) had less than 1.0A however the minimum requirement was 1.8A(pi 2) the minimum requirement for pi 3 is 2.5A

thanks for the info. now, running it for that amount of time wouldn't cause any damage to the pi right?

@cjmyers513 well actually I found out that the pi zero needs 1.2A of power but I'm pretty sure that the raspberry pi will only draw how much power it wants.

No the time doesn't matter as long as you have the right amount of power. Additionally if you don't want to overheat your pi or get more power get a heatsink or/and a mini fan.

@SammyBoy so i was running it with just enough power to run the unit, but nothing else (usb hub and controllers). I wonder why it worked for a short time?

                        .2a

0.2A ??? You will be unable to run anything at all.

@cjmyers513 At 0.7A, you will be unable to run anything. You need a minimum of 2.5A, preferably 3A for peripherals.

@rbaker i'm trying to upload a photo, but it keeps saying it needs to be less than 1000kb when the photo is less than 400kb, so im not sure. that's what the wall adapter's saying.

@cjmyers513 Any 5V supply that can deliver greater than or equal to 2.5A will be fine. Phone chargers are not recommended as they may not provide a regulated 5V so as soon as you power up, the voltage collapses.

@cjmyers513 As you are running a Pi zero with peripherals, you might get away with 2A. But 0.7A - it will boot then anything could happen. Most probably, the charger will get hot.

@rbaker sounds good. I'll get a new power supply. I kind of had a feeling this adapter was going to be a no go. Thanks for all the help.
