I decided to play the NDS version of Chrono Trigger, so i've installed the two optional NDS emulators. As far as i know, i've set it like the rest of my emulators, but the fast foward function isn't working. Is this function available on NDS emulators? If so, how can i make it work?

@vahnxdean what is there besides drastic. They also arent retroarch libretro emulators so all the retroarch functions dont work if thats what you were talking about.

@edmaul69 oh, i see. Thanks for the help. So basically i won't be able to use fast foward on Nintendo DS on my PI cause there isn't a Nintendo DS retroarch libretro emulator?

@vahnxdean yes. Unless that emulator has its own fast forward function built in. However most other emulators that do have dedicated buttons and not hot keys so it is really easy to accidentally hit it.

@vahnxdean Drastic, the NDS emulator, is not open source and therefore not a core running under retroarch. No retroach settings apply to it, including rewind/fastfoward, unless it’s encoded within the emulator.

Edit: sorry, I hadn’t seen the replies above :)

@vahnxdean There is a libretro core for NDS, it's lr-desmume but it runs like absolute crap. There are no games that I would describe as "playable" using it so DraStic is really the only option.
EDIT: And as far as I can see DraStic does have a FF function. Launch a game, then press M on a keyboard to bring up the DraStic menu. Configure your controls from there. Save for that specific game or for all games.

@edmaul69 i'm using desmume on my desktop and it has a FF function. Is there a way to enable it on retropie? (don't know if this is important, but the default key is "Tab")

Desmume (standalone emulator) is not available in RetroPie, only lr-desmume (the RetroArch core).
