Only game I can think of is Warzard (also known as Red Earth) , though its more of a standard fighting game. It does however have a lion man, ninja, and witch as the main characters.

@choobchoobi It might help to know, was this a side by side "vs." style fighter game, or a side scrolling campaign style? In other words, are the players fighting each other or fighting a common enemy?

japan companies were making Mame game were capcom-sega-atari- konami right?

There are a lot more : dataeast, taito, kaneko, cave, ... to only name a few.

I think the game you are searching for is "shadow force" (this one is from Technos). The game should be playable in both mame (2003+) and fbalpha.

Think you have hit one a good idea, where other users on this forum can help each other locate that all elusive game, which we played in our youth but have forgot the name of.

One of mine was a cocktail table type, that was of a similar vain as Pacman, but you played the part of a cop chasing a robber, and was able to lock the robber up in a jail and then carry on picking up items. It was similar to Cat and Mouse but with Cops and Robbers instead, going back to around 1981/82 here!
