Need help with psx controller config
-
Sorry in advance for being a n00b at this but i am trying to learn. Could someone help me with configuring my wired psx controller to retropi? I have had some issues with mapping all the buttons correctly. I have not tried going into the retroarch and doing it manually. Could someone tell me the best way to configure it?

@jland1180 Give more details about your system and your problem - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

System:
Raspberry Pi 3B running latest version of RetroPiProblem:
Issues mapping psx controller. Unable to correctly map shoulder buttons and analog sticks Keep getting issue of already taken even though i havent mapped it yet. -
@jland1180 By psx you mean you are using a Sony ps1 analog controller? Maybe your adapter is causing the issue? When I need an extra controller for 4 player Mario kart, I sometimes grab a ps1 controller and a ps1 to usb adapter and never had an issue like you're describing.
Don't you have any other controllers to try out? -
yes psx meaning ps1. it is a usb controller so no adapters on it. i have nes and snes controllers and i typically dont play anything more than 2 player games.
-
@jland1180 Do you know if the controller is any good? Have you been able to use the shoulder buttons on another system?
-
i havent really tried it on another gaming system as of yet. I will try to test it to see. Hoping that the controller is good since i bought them brand new.

@jland1180 Unless there is something seriously wrong with your retropie setup, then it could very well be a faulty controller. I'd rule that out first by using the controller on your pc for example.

So i tested the remote on some snes games and the shoulder buttons worked. I also have been able to play some ps1 games also. Not sure whats going on but it didnt work this well last time i messed with it nor did the graphics look as good and i hadn't messed with it since i encountered the issue about a month back.
